Sharp Carousel microwave, smart and easy model

The microwave shuts off after 59 seconds of operation. Has anyone else experienced this malfunction? If so what was the fix? This is in a 05 Mandalay.

RE: Where's the MHs?

Edwardo,
Be honest, you came south for the warm weather during the winter, cost of fuel probably was not an issue. I would not stay in Canada in the winter either. I'm either in Florida or Texas RGV each winter. Our northern states weather is not that much different from Canada during the summer months so no need to enter Canada to escape the heat, especially with the added cost of fuel. I thought the summer months in Nova Scotia in 05 were down right chilly.

RE: Water Cooler on the road

I have seen two quart size water coolers that sit on the counter and use 120 VAC. They also have internal replaceable filters. They look like Early American or Italian pottery with a metal faucet style dispenser on the side and a lid like the old crocks with similar shape.

RE: Best GPS for full-timing is?

If you are an amateur radio operator, there are a few transceivers that have a tnc installed in them that will allow them to be connected to a computer and a gps which will transmit your location every few minutes to a website which can be viewed by others.

RE: Portable Gas Grill

The Weber Baby Q for the reasons the other users have listed. I do remove the grill and clean it regularly as the drippings build up on the angled sides. After each use, line the removable drip pan with foil (throw it away after use), scrape the grill, apply a little cooking oil to the warm grill and you are ready for the next time. Do purchase the wheeled protective cover as it is real easy to slide back in the storage bay.

RE: Travel through Seattle

Good luck. Traveled through Seattle last September and I could have walked fastster. Never did see what the hold up was. Just stay aware of the short lane turners and enjoy the views.

RE: RV Park in Atlanta

I had that problem last month. Ended up at the Cartersville KOA. A bit north of the city but clean and easy in and out, as it is right at the exit. I would stay there again when in the vicinity. The only negative is the price is steep for service received.

RE: New Milepost

I have made the trip five times. Only one time did I have a Milepost. We did not use it as it seemed not user friendly and small print. I look at it like picking up and reading last October's Seattle PI newspaper. It is about as up to date as that, if you are looking for current conditions. Save your money, check out the web and visit visitor centers on the highway. Ask other travelers about current road conditions.

RE: Alaskan Mosquitos

When we went to the flight line to preflight the helicopters, they would be waiting there, sitting up on the rotor blades with tooth picks waiting our arrival. It made me real mad when you got closer, you could see the smile on their faces, as they jump up and down. You could hear the discussion of which one would attack first. Yea, those were the good ole days.

RE: WINTER TEXANS BEWARE-4/11-UPDATE

While stationed in Texas with the US Army I had a high top van properly licensed in Texas. I also had an expired Alaska license plate with my amateur radio call letters installed on the ladder at the rear of the van far above any reasonable location for a license plate. I also had two amateur radios installed with antennas on the exterior of the van. There were no indications it was a current license, The word Alaska and year was covered with black tape. The leo stated he did not know what an amateur radio call sign was and he was going to cite me for an illegal licensed vehicle, even though the current Texas plates were displayed in the correct positions. I insisted he call a superior officer and question his actions. He did so and I could hear the response telling him that I was legal as long as the Alaska plate was not current, to just send me on my way and do nothing. He still insisted I remove the plate in his presence and told me I could not use it again. I removed it but reinstalled it later the same day. Some people just can't take being made a fool by their own actions.

RE: Driving to Alaska

After Mt Rushmore enter Canada via Sweetgrass, MT to Dawson Creek on to Alaska. As another has mentioned, save the Redwoods for another time. You will really be happy you did when you reach Alaska. I have make that trip five times. The first was in March 1973 and 2007 being the last. We left 1 June spent the summer in Alaska and arrived in Washington State 13 September. Enjoy the trip. We may even drive it again in a couple years.

RE: Nova Scotia - routes and stops?

Ferry from St Johns to Digby, Citadel @ Halifax and Annapolis Royal. When at Annapolis Royal do take the evening tour of the old cemetery. You will remember it. Do not wear shorts, mosquitoes. The Fort at Louisburg.

RE: Inaugural voyage - what to take?

Things you will need. Space in the basement area for the things you purchase along the way. Oh, and lots of cash as fuel will take a very large portion of the budget.

I purchased the Lafer recliners shown in the Liberty Coach advertisements
in FMCA magazines. Great style, comfort and many leather colors. The disappearing foot support is outstanding. Call Jody at Coaches by Design, Avon Park, FL 800-894-0760 or Countryside Interiors, Junction City, OR 900-324-6287

RE: Anyone purchase a Ford Escape Hybrid? How long did it take?

My daughter has an Escape hybrid. Not all dealers are capable to service hybrids so she was told. Dealer in Ft Meyers, FL has an additional market value of $5000.00, extra for other not needed items they pack on for the Hybrids. The one I looked at had an additional $10,000 dealer costs. This helped kill the Thunderbird sales when they were introduced.
Sure turned off my interest. That makes for a much larger first year deprecation.
